<prefix> <start> <end>
Identifies all free (unassigned) directory numbers (DN) within an Automatic DN Selection Range. Can be used to test the current or a new Auto DN Selection range and to determine the configuration values for the following range-defining parameters:
The concatenated qualifiers <prefix> + <start> and <prefix> + <end>represent the DNs at the lower and upper bounds of the search.
The <prefix> must be a 1- to 7-character string (0-9, *, or #). The <start> and <end> qualifiers must be the same-length (1 to 5 characters) numeric string (0-9).
The total length of each concatenated parameter (<prefix> + <start> and <prefix> + <end>) cannot exceed seven characters.
A directory number is considered to be free if it satisfies all of the following conditions:
The DN is within the specified range inclusive.
The DN is the same length as the start and end range numbers.
The DN does not map to the existing telephone, group pilot number, ARS destination, feature access code, special service number, or remote directory number.
The DN will not conflict with an ARS digit string.
The DN will not cause a conflict with an existing feature access code. (Set Registration Auto DN Selection - Prefix is considered a normal DN; DNs under the prefix will be considered free.)
The DN is not a sub-string of a longer provisioned DN.
The search result is captured in a file named "*.LOCATE.AUTO_DN".
System Response:
